Jim Owens

Photographer

On a vacation trip to New England in 2008, I photographed the Nubble Lighthouse south of Portland, Maine.  I enjoyed it so much that I continued shooting pictures of lighthouses along the Maine coast.

A year later I took a trip around the entire Michigan coast (Lakes Huron, Superior and Michigan) and photographed about 75 lighthouses (most people don't realize Michigan has over 100 lighthouses).

The hobby has become an obsession.  Several times a year, I travel to various locations in North America to photograph lighthouses.  There are still about 1000 remaining in the U.S. and Canada.

We've turned many of the photos into calendars and prints which are available for purchase.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
